Welcome to Self-care of the Moment

An Introduction to “Self-Care of the Moment”

To understand why this section exists, let me share a little about my background.

While pursuing my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science, I had the unique opportunity to study alongside faculty in a graduate program for Holistic Health Studies. This exposure to the world of Integrative Medicine completely changed the trajectory of my life. I was fascinated by the idea of caring for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—and knew I wanted to explore it further.

Right after graduating, I went into that same Master’s program in Holistic Health Studies. What made the program unique was its broad approach to Integrative Medicine. Rather than preparing me for a specific role like acupuncture or dietetics, it gave me a comprehensive understanding of various modalities and how they work together to support well-being.

For a long time, I saw myself as a Jack of All Trades rather than an expert. I couldn’t treat someone directly, but I had the knowledge to guide them toward modalities, connect them with experts, and design wellness programs that considered all aspects of a person’s well-being. This perspective has been the foundation of my work for over a decade, and now, it’s the foundation of Self-Care of the Moment.

What to Expect from “Self-Care of the Moment”

The internet is full of advice on health and wellness, but not all of it is reliable or helpful. My goal with Self-Care of the Moment is to cut through the noise and share the practices and modalities that are working for me right now.

This section isn’t about chasing the latest trends; it’s about sharing what I’ve found valuable in my own wellness journey. I’ll explain why a particular practice resonates with me, how it’s helping, and share trusted resources—including experts I follow—so you can explore them further.

I have always approached my work from the philosophy that wellness isn’t one-size-fits-all. What works for me now will probably change in the future, but I hope this space inspires you to try new things, listen to your body, and discover what self-care means for you.

Last, there is a saying that self-care is an act of self-love. If there is anything that my journey through burnout has taught me, is that there is nothing more sacred or important than coming back to yourself. When you take a few seconds to look at a flower or an hour long salt bath, both are giving love and energy back to your whole being.

Whether you’re just beginning to explore self-care or looking to deepen your routine, I invite you to join me on this journey. Together, we’ll uncover tools and practices that support your health and well-being in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.

Take good care of yourself,

Tracey
